What is the Gas Safe Register?

The Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body in the UK, Isle of Man and Guernsey. It replaced CORGI in 2009 with an updated set of guidelines and acts as a licensing body for gas engineers.

The Gas Safe Register has a list of all legally qualified gas engineers and helps customers find an engineer local to them. If an engineer is on the list, customers know that they are correctly trained and qualified to carry out gas work, eliminating the risk of any dangerous work being carried out by someone that doesn't know what they are doing.
In addition to this, the Gas Safe Register checks any reports of unsafe or illegal gas work and can prosecute any engineer found carrying out unsafe work, helping keep the public safe. 

How can I find a local Gas Safe engineer?

You can search by location to find qualified gas engineers near you on the Gas Safe website: https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk. 
You can also use this to check any gas engineer to see if they are on the register. To check an individual, you need to know their 9-digit license number (any legit gas engineer will be happy to share this with you) or search for their full company name.
